My wife an I very disappointed. I can understand canceling for many reasons. However we went with mad fan pack. The web page was not honest: they said we’d get signed t-shirts and posters. Well, we have the t-shirts (not signed but we didn’t think they would be) but the posters were just shoved in the bag and are now only good for paper recycling. Pity as the posters were a very nice version of the current splash page image.

Now, I blame this on the US promoter and not the band.

So my bitch session is in hope that the band gets a better US promoter next time. Don’t let them make ridiculous promises.

And it burns doubly as we’re Aussies working in the US. If we were back home we could be seeing them in November. Damn, the cruelty of life. Looks like it’ll be 2010 before we get to see them.

@DrawingLines: I got an email from concertmaps 4 days ago saying I’ll get a full refund within the next 3 weeks.

Aw, this is sad. really looking forward to this! however, hope the “personal reasons” aren’t tragic or anything. :]

  6. DrawingLines says:

Speculation as to their reasons aside, I’ll ask again: does anyone know what happens to our purchased tickets?

  7. clara says:

@rose_mary- I totally agree with you, there must be a serious illness in one of their circle of friends/family.Personal reasons is an umbrella term,it is quite difficult to define.

No doubt we will hear more from an official source soon,re October dates.

  8. rose_mary says:

@ben6679: did you ever think about that the dates for october are not canceled YET? This might still happen, not that I want that to happen!
and maybe there is something going on in one of their families that makes one of them want to be at least on the same continent with the chance to be at home in a few hours?
A band like Maximo Park does not just cancel a tour because they don’t feel like playing in a specific country anymore…

  9. ben6679 says:

If it was a real important “personal reason”, like a death in the family, they would have cancelled these August shows on the 28th and 29th but they are playing those. They are playing late August and also all the Europe dates in October, just not in September in North America, it doesn’t make any sense.Sounds to me like we’re being fed a line, sounds like they just changed their minds, maybe they want some time off or just don’t feel like it, that’s pretty weak…

Bummer about the tour being canceled. When you reschedule, could you consider playing a show in Salt Lake City UT?

  13. Gene Snoogans says:

I am depressed about the tour cancellation as well as the personal reasons you guys are dealing with right now. Please, come back soon!

  14. chief. says:

Well balls to it. :/ Ah well..hope all gets resolved soon! I was looking forward to the concert as a birthday present. Just a suggestion though, instead of in Washington DC, is it possible to maybe get booked at the Norva in Norfolk, Virginia? A lot safer area with a lot of crowd willing to see you! :D

  15. DrawingLines says:

This is very very sad. It’s a time of mourning :( Can’t wait for them to reschedule, though.
Does anyone know what happens to the tickets we’ve purchased?

  16. kelleygreene says:

I agree…looking forward to the rescheduled dates. Hope things are better for you guys soon!

Ugh. Not a very happy birthday for me today indeed. Hope the personal issues resolve themselves sooner rather than later and looking forward to the rescheduled dates!! Now if there was only a way to change that LA to SF flight to a LA to London flight in October!!
